Arona Lake· Maggiore · Italy
Three quiet days of stitching,
inspired by the frescoes on the walls of a historic palazzo.
About the workshop
In this workshop, we will stitch details inspired by the old frescoes painted on the walls of my home in Arona, a historic palazzo near Lake Maggiore. Small flowers, faded ornaments, fragments of faces and soft colours that have survived for hundreds of years — translated into embroidery by hand.
This is not a fast workshop.
It's about slowing down, looking closely, and enjoying the process of making something beautiful with your hands.
You will work on one of several pre-designed embroidery pieces based on the frescoes in the palazzo. I will guide you through a mix of stitches and techniques, step by step. Suitable for both adventurous beginners and more experienced stitchers.
We work in a small group around a large table in the palazzo, with good coffee, Italian lunches, and the sound of church bells outside the windows.
